The Fujifilm TX-1 [Fujifilm Superia Venus 800]
Heading into 2025, one of my biggest purchases of the year was definitely the Fujifilm TX-1 and the 45mm and 90mm lens. There's a lot written online about this camera, the magic of it and also the challenge of a wider aspect ratio. But after shooting a roll through it, the aspect ratio felt natural to me, as if you were telling the scene you captured as you saw it in the moment of capture.

Conciously, or subconciously, your vision takes on a similar aspect ratio as you see it, and looking at images taken with the TX-1 freezes time itself, giving you time to take in every little detail in that scene in front of you. For me, that's how I percieve scenes when I capture them, and coming from a cinematorgraphy training over the years, it felt natural as if it was second nature.

Scenes like the following really brings you into the space.

And the lady and I went to the Tess Smith-Roberts exhibition and it really exemplifies why this camera is unique in its own way.
